About
Pfishova is a Kashubian-Polish visual artist and a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. She works in oil painting and assemblage, reworking reclaimed plastics, nets and unwanted materials into structural, monochrome forms in which fragility meets tension. Her practice unfolds across three cycles — ecological, typographic and figurative — bound by a single enquiry: the body, fear and systems of control, made material.
Artist statement
In her ongoing Ghost Nets series, Pfishova weaves discarded polypropylene agricultural netting, fishing nets, fragments of plastic, cords and fabric into the canvas, cradling them in oil and acrylic. Civilizational waste is transformed into dense, monochrome relief — matter that is at once ecological evidence and sculptural painting.
She is drawn to the moment when destruction becomes form: pollution reworked into structure, loss into rebirth. Her works do not offer closed narratives; they open a field of tension between what is discarded and what survives, between the synthetic and the organic.
