Indigirl is a figure caught in the act of withdrawing. The head bows and turns away, its face worn down to a pale, featureless grey — not a portrait but a presence, an identity sinking back into shadow. A black mass envelops her like hair, like a veil, like grief itself, while from below a luminous white body rises out of the dark, as if lit from within. She is disappearing and emerging in the same breath.
The invented title keeps its own ambiguity: indi- for the individual, indigo for the deepest, almost-black hue — the single person and the darkness that absorbs her, folded into one coined name. There is no face to read, no word to decode; only matter. Pfishova builds the image by scraping, layering and wearing the surface until the figure seems excavated rather than painted — a body recovered from erasure, held at the threshold between someone and no one.
Close to the enquiry of She / S_HE, Indigirl turns the faceless figure inward. What is withheld here is not identity as a social mask but as an interior — the self experienced from inside its own silence, present as a shape, absent as a person, luminous and lost at once.
